IDAHO is the International Day Against Homophobia & Transphobia on 17th May, which is marked every year throughout the world. One of IDAHO ... Leer más’s goals is to seek a UN resolution to decriminalise homosexuality, and end gender identity discrimination worldwide. Derek Lennard, Organiser of IDAHO UK says, “A Day in Hand as a movement, is ingenious in its simplicity and its global scope. A Day in Hand takes a fragmented world of LBGT inequality and fits the pieces together. We know there is some way to go before we can freely express in public who we are. At the launch, on 17th May, we ask people to remember the many LGBT people around the world who could not take part in a public expression of their sexual orientation without the threat of harassment, imprisonment or even execution.
